Want to know the quick and dirty of what your child is “supposed” to cover? Visit World Book and get a free list of topics that are typically covered in that grade level.
Another great resources is What Your Kindergartner Needs to Know: Preparing Your Child for a Lifetime of Learning (Core Knowledge Series) . While I was surprised to find it was written as an aid to help parents of public schooled children (explaining what SHOULD be taught in school and giving them activities to do at home to ensure that it has been taught), I still found it exceptionally useful. It comes complete with the information, facts, pictures, stories and such that are needed to cover the topics. Great asset when you need something light weight to carry with you! With this book we could do school work just about anywhere at a moments notice. It also reinforced some of the reasons why we chose to home school to begin with.
